I am a regular guy, who's totally obsessed with technology. Okay, maybe obsessed is too strong a word, but I am totally into technology in nearly every form it comes in. Just seeing how technology integrates into our lives, how it is ever present in nearly everything we do in a day to day basis...To quote a one of my favorite characters in Science Fiction: I find it "fascinating". Many people think that those who are into Computer Programming are inherently social misfits in some way. If that's true then I am pleased to say that particular geek-gene did not get passed down to me (or so I like to believe ::Wink::). I love to socialize, make new friends, and see the world that blesses us all with wonder on a daily basis. I'd like to clear up one other misconception while I have your attention. Computer Programmers by nature do not have to be math wizards. I personally hate math, however I absolutely love puzzles. I excel in logic (a branch of mathematics) but by no means do I love to crunch numbers. Hey, even Albert Einstein failed simple mathematics as a child, the concepts were just to easy for his mind to comprehend, so I guess I find myself in good company!
On a more personal level I love Science Fiction and Fantasy based books as well as TV Shows & Movies. After a hard day of solving problems all day, toying with logic puzzles in my mind, I enjoy escaping reality for a short while and exercising my creative mind. Science Fiction/Fantasy gives me that outlet to relax from the mundane world and delve into another more fantastical one. Believe you me, when you are solving a multi-dimensional logic problem for several hours, your mind starts to go numb and it screams for a change of scenery...or at least mine does.
When it comes to music, while I am not an aficionado by any stretch of the imagination, above all I love the style of the 80's. I grew up with that music, and while it will always carry childhood memories for me, all-in-all I believe in my heart that no music age held as much feeling and emotion as did the 80's. Now music is all about dancing and making money. Most of it, while enjoyable, is just noise.
